For all students interested in joining the track team, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 30th at the beginning of lunch in the Gym. There are no tryouts but you must turn in your physical and parent consent form to Mr. Cheng ASAP in the Boys Locker Room office during homeroom to be eligible. Practice begins on Tuesday, February 19th after school in the Upper Yard!

SFUSD Basketball ChampionsBoys Basketball Champions!

Congratulations to the Boys Basketball team on winning the AAA Middle School Championship! They beat Everett 74-49 to complete their third consecutive perfect season and win their third championship in a row!

Way to go, teams!

Girls Softball Champions

Congratulations to the Girls softball team and Coach Deppmeier on beating Presidio 8-7 in the Championship game. The Jaguars were down 7-2 in the bottom of the 6th and rallied back to win 8-7 on a walk-off hit!


Baseball Champions

Congratulations to the baseball team and Coach Johnsen on beating Presidio 9-5 in the Championship game. The game was tied going into the bottom of the 6th inning before the Jaguars put together a two-out, four-run rally to win it 9-5!


For all students interested in trying out for our after school athletic teams:

  • Please make sure you go see a doctor and have them fill out the Physical form.
  • Physical packets can be printed

    (Athletic Physical Formsor found in the Main Office. 

  • You cannot try out for an athletic team without the Physical form signed by a doctor.
  • Turn in completed physical packets to Mr. Cheng in the Boys Locker Room Office before school or during homeroom.

School Tours for the 2018-2019 school year

2018 School Tours:
9:45–11am on Fridays, 10/19–12/14 (no tour on 11/23). No reservation needed. Meet outside the front entrance. Please do not enter the school before the tour, as 1,200+ students will be in the hallways making their way to class.

2019 Feeder School Tours:
Students from feeder schools will be invited to attend tours of APG as field trips with their classmates in the spring. Details will be arranged separately with each school.

Middle School Redesign

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) Middle Grades Redesign Initiative engages educators, school leaders, students, families, central departments, and community partners to redesign the middle grades experience so that each and every student has access to world-class 21st century teaching and learning and equitable, personalized support throughout their school day, school year, and beyond in order to acquire the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of SFUSD's Graduate Profile.

This multi-year initiative is intended to:

    • Remove existing institutional barriers for all students to a universal set of learning opportunities, regardless of race, gender, language, or background, and
    • Provide the professional collaboration and development opportunities for teachers to reimagine and redesign teaching and learning across all subject areas so that students will accelerate and exercise choice in a rigorous, relevant, and interdisciplinary education that prepares them for high school, college, and career in the 21st century.
